It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Baobab, Papa Pius, who died on December 19, 2023. Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA USA.

 

In his memory, the LSU Department of French Studies will award an annual Pius Ngandu Nkashama Memorial Assistantship in the amount of $28,000.

​

We continue to celebrate his life as his legacy will live on for centuries to come.

​
