Kabungama Foundation

The Kabungama Foundation is a a non-profit organization based in Alabama, USA that focus on supporting the Ngandu Nkashama Cultural center in Mbuji Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

We, the children of Pius Ngandu Nkashama, although living far from Mbuji Mayi, wanted to contribute to the Cultural Center by promoting awareness on a global platform and by facilitating donations to the center.

As our father once said, we have to "dare to dream". Thousands and thousands of novelist, poets and other writers have suffered and have been persecuted because of their writings. Among the ones persecuted, Pius Ngandu Nkashama never stopped to "dare" dreaming, even when he was imprisoned. For us who are free, we must continue to dare dreaming; dreaming is one way to keep hanging on, exploring and to keep hoping.  Literature is one way of keeping the hope alive. That is why we want to encourage you to donate to the Cultural center and help the children, men and woman of Mbuji Mayi to dare dreaming through literature.
